
Tamale Chili Pie
As the temperatures begin to get colder, I love this hearty comfort dish.  It's super simple to make with only a few ingredients. I love to pair this with individual cornbread or the traditional corn chips.

Equipment
- 1 9x9 square baking dish
 
Ingredients
- 1 can chili 15 ounce
 - 1 can beef tamales 15 ounce
 - 1 jalapeno seeded and diced
 - 1 small onion
 - 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
 - 2 tbsp sour cream optional
 - 1 tbsp chopped green onions optional
 
Instructions
- Unwrap and cut tamales into thick slices
 - Chop onion and dice jalapeno
 - Place tamale slices in a square baking dish that has been greased
 - Add chili, onion, and jalapeno
 - Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes until bubbly
 - Add shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for 5 more minutes
 - Serve and Enjoy with dollop of sour cream and chopped green onions
 - Consider serving with cornbread or corn chips
